AffyImmune Therapeutics (“Affy”), a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on developing technologies that expand the utility and improve the safety and efficacy of cell-based immunotherapy for cancer, is seeking an HR Generalist to scale the Talent function in support of the use of CAR T therapy for solid tumors. As part of the Talent team, you will play a primary role in administering and benchmarking benefits, onboarding new team members, and ensuring multi-jurisdictional compliance.

Reporting into Finance & Operations, you will join a small team at a dynamic startup. You will collaborate within and outside the company to ensure candidates and employees are set up for success and ensure Affy grows responsibly and meets its local, state, and federal Talent reporting requirements. With your attention to detail, compassion, and team-first mindset, you will leave an indelible mark on Affy.

Location: Natick, MA; Full In-Office, Hybrid, or Remote depending on experience and candidate preference.

TALENT ASSOCIATE (SENIOR ASSOCIATE, DOE)

Responsibilities:

Benefits Administration and Compliance (50%)

  • Assess current compliance structure for local, state, and federal reporting. Recommend and implement improvements as needed. Prepare Affy for incremental requirements in line with planned headcount growth.
  • Prepare updates to employee handbook in light of changing local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Analyze and benchmark benefits offerings with peer companies to ensure robust total compensation packages are offered to current and new employees.
  • Onboard qualifying employees to all benefits. Manage open enrollment process annually.

Operational Support and Vendor Management (50%)

  • Own relationship with outsourced talent acquisition firms to ensure best possible candidate experience.
  • Integrate learning and development best practices into Affy onboarding process.
  • Conduct regular employee check-ins, including manager enablement, to ensure employee success and satisfaction. Escalate issues to supervisor, as appropriate. Brainstorm and deliver improvements to remediate employee dissatisfaction, as appropriate.
  • Implement Affy’s Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) Plan. Fulfill investor requests related to the same.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior involvement in establishing a benefits and Talent compliance structure at a startup required.
  • High School diploma required. Prior life science Talent experience preferred. Analogous experience in compliance, sales, vendor management, ESG, or benefits administration will also be considered.
  • Strong sense of urgency and excellence in prioritization, planning, and execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a matrix environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills within and outside the company
  • Meticulous attention to detail, including capacity to conduct thorough self-reviews.

  • Comfort with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint).
